The Malaysian Preliminary Contest of the 17th Chinese Bridge Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Student Concluded

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On May 5th, the 17th Malaysian Chinese Bridge Preliminary Contest for Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Student co-organized by KongZi Institute University of Malaya and Chinese Embassy in Malaysia was successfully held at KongZi Institute University of Malaya. A total of 31 contestants from 15 universities in Malaysia took part in the preliminary contest.

In the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Zalina Mohammad, Malaysian Director of KongZi Institute UM summarized the development history of Chinese Bridge for College Students in Malaysia, and evaluated the achievement by the Malaysian contestant who won in the final last year. She encouraged students to be challenged and create a new height for Malaysia this year. KongZi Institute invited Mr. Zhang Jiexin, Director of Culture and Education Office in Embassy of China, as the special guest. Mr Zhang noted in his remarks that Chinese Bridge is also a bridge that connects Malaysia and China on the culture platform. He said the traditional folk and culture exchange between two countries is getting more frequent, especially on the cultural and educational communication among young people. He hoped students could improve their competency in Chinese, further understand the Chinese culture, and make a contribution on Chinese and Malaysian cultural exchange in the future.

The competition is divided into three parts: speech, question & answer (Q&A) and talent show. All the contestants are non-native Chinese speakers; they gave the speeches on the topic “Experience Chinese Culture, Share Your Stories about China” in the first part. Nurainina Natasha from UiTM impressed the judges and audience by her outstanding speech. In the third part, contestants showed their love and deep understanding on traditional Chinese culture by their wonderful performance such as Mandarin singing, folk dancing, traditional Chinese instruments playing and Chinese Kong Fu.

After intense competition, Nurainina Natasha from UiTM emerged as Champion. Muhammad Syafiq Farhan Boo Bin Omar Boo who is from UPM won the second prize. They will be the representative for Malaysia College students to participate in the semi-final and final round of Chinese Bridge-World College Students Chinese Proficiency Competition.

 第17届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛马来西亚预赛在马来亚大学孔子学院举办

2018年5月5日,由马来亚大学孔子学院和中国驻马来西亚大使馆联合举办的第17届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛马来西亚预赛在马来亚大学孔子学院礼堂顺利举行,共有来自马来西亚15所大学的31位选手参加了此次比赛。

大赛开幕式上,马来亚大学孔子学院马方院长Dr. Zalina Muhammad 向参赛选手和观众致欢迎词,并介绍了汉语桥在马来西亚的发展历程,同时回顾了上届选手在全球总决赛中取得的不俗成绩。她鼓励同学们不断迎接挑战,为马来西亚再创佳绩。大赛邀请了中国驻马来西亚大使馆文化处主任张杰鑫为特邀嘉宾。张主任在开幕致辞中表示,汉语桥是连接中马文化交流的桥梁。近年来中马民间友好交往愈加频繁,青年学生间的文化交流成为一个新亮点。希望各位同学努力学习汉语,了解中华文化,为中马文化交流贡献力量。

比赛共分为三部分即:演讲、回答问题和才艺表演。参赛者均为马来西亚非华裔大学生,他们以“感受中华文化,共享中国故事”为主题进行了演讲。来自玛拉工艺大学的莱娜·娜达莎在她的演讲“天下无难事,只怕有心人”中分享了她学习汉语的心路历程,她发音标准、表达清晰、情感动人,给评委和现场观众留下了深刻的印象。随后选手们各展才能,通过歌曲演唱、中国民族舞蹈表演、中国传统乐器演奏、扯铃、书法、诗歌朗诵等中华才艺诠释了自己对中国文化的认知与理解。
