During the opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Norzalina, Malaysian director of KongZi Institute UM, welcomed the students and teachers. She gave a briefing on the organization of the Institute. Dr. Alin disclosed that she is learning Mandarin now and believes that the best way to learn a language is by trying to communicate with native speakers and also by knowing their culture in relation to the use of the language. KongZi Institute is very pleased to offer such opportunity to help students with their Mandarin learning.
In the language class, Ms. Liao Moqun and Mr. Songyang, both teachers of KongZi Institute, introduced some native words used in restaurant environment and gave an insight on the latest payment technology in china. Students participated as role-play in group using the new words.
In the culture class, Ms. Wu Ling and Mr. You Xiao introduced students the Peking Opera, Chinese calligraphy and “Plum blossom-blowing”. It is quite a challenge for students to overcome their shyness and sang the Peking Opera while articulating the performance postures. However, students were very excited to try with the teachers.
The visit to our Institute has indeed broadened the students’ horizon on various aspects of Chinese language and culture.
马来西亚博特拉大学学生在马来亚大学孔子学院体验中华文化
2018年4月19日下午2点，36位博拉特大学的学生来到马来亚大学孔子学院总部参加为期半天的汉语学习及文化体验活动。
在开幕式上，外方院长Alin副教授对同学们的到来表示了热烈的欢迎，并表示自己也正在学汉语，同时介绍了一下马来亚大学孔子学院是如何从创办之初的小规模发展到现在拥有八千多名学生的过程，并鼓励同学们学习汉语，多来孔子学院参加活动。有同学表示在此之前并不知道孔子学院，扩大孔子学院影响力也正是我们举办这些文化体验活动的原因之一。
在语言课上，廖默群老师和宋阳老师向同学们介绍了当下在中国，大家到饭店都是如何点菜、吃饭和买单，并向同学们介绍了“支付宝、扫码”等新型支付的专有名词。同学们在情境表演中活学活用，开始采用新型支付方式进行“结账”。
在文化体验课上，吴玲老师和尤肖老师带领同学们体验了生动活泼的京剧教学和写书法、吹墨梅花等文化体验活动。刚开始有点不好意思的男孩子，在尤老师的积极带领下，也端起了架势，像模像样地唱了起来。在吴玲老师的帮助下，同学们很快掌握了毛笔的使用方法，并尝试书写基本笔画和简单的中文。吹梅花环节虽然很短，但是是大家成就感最高的一个环节。体验课结束后，大家带着自己的成果开心地进行了合影。
