Kong Zi Institute University of Malaya hosts the 4th Creative Lantern Festival Competition 马来亚大学孔子学院举办第四届创意灯笼节

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In conjunction with Global Confucius Institute Day, Kong Zi Insitute university of Malaya held the 4th Creative Lantern Festival on October 3rd. The festival attracted more than 100 local and foreign students from colleges and universities such as UM, UiTM.

The festival kicked off with a brief introduction of Kong Zi Institute UM and Global Confucius Institute Day by Dr. Wang Zhenghai, the Chinese Director of Kong Zi Institute University of Malaya. He hoped that students from different countries would exert their creativity and imagination to make their most satisfactory “exclusive lanterns”. At the same time, by participating in this competition, they could learn from each other and further enhance their understanding of different cultures.

After the opening ceremony, the students were divided into five groups and started the competition in five classrooms. They needed to complete the production by the provided materials in 45 minutes. The lanterns produced by the students are diverse in shape and novel in theme. Some of the lanterns have Chinese style as their theme and have small plum-in-ink drawings on them; some use various color paper to decorate the lanterns with tropical fruits and other shapes; some added the paper-cut, Chinese characters and other elements to express their understanding of Chinese culture.

The first winner was Wang Tingting, a student from the University of Malaya. With the image of “Mei Lan Zhu Ju”, her works showed the noble and indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation from ancient times and won unanimous recognition.

This year is the 4th consecutive year that Kong Zi Institute university of Malaya organized the Creative Lantern Festival. The influence of the festival has increased with more diversified participants Malaysian but also from Japan, Germany and India. Students shared their creativity and knowledge, exchanged their experiences during the activity. And many students tried to communicate with each other in Chinese, introducing the cultural elements on each other’s lanterns. Every student has become an ambassador of culture. KZIUM will continue to organize such activities to build a platform for students to communicate and learn from each other so as to enhance understanding and friendship among people of different countries.

10月3日,为了庆祝全球孔子学院日,马来亚大学孔子学院举办了第四届创意灯笼节。来自马来亚大学、玛拉工艺大学的100多名本地学生和外国留学生积极报名参赛。

活动伊始,孔子学院中方院长王正海首先介绍了孔子学院的发展现状以及“孔子学院日”的由来和意义,希望来自不同国家的学生发挥创造力和想象力,做出自己最满意的“专属灯笼”,同时通过参加本次比赛,能够互相学习,进一步增进对不同文化的理解。

简短的开幕式后,学生们被分为五组,在孔院教师的带领下进入各个教室开始比赛,他们需要使用孔院提供的材料在45分钟内完成制作。最终,学生们制作出的灯笼造型多样,主题新颖。有的以中国风为主题,在灯笼上绘出了小幅的墨梅图;有的使用各色彩纸将灯笼装饰出热带水果等造型;有的则插入了剪纸、汉字等元素,表达了自己对中国文化的认知。

比赛冠军由学生们投票选出,第一名获得者为马来亚大学学生王婷婷,她的作品通过“梅兰竹菊”的意象,展示了中华民族自古传承的高洁不屈的精神风貌,赢得了大家一致的肯定。

这是马来亚大学孔子学院第四次举办创意灯笼节活动,活动影响力愈加提升,参与学生也愈加多元化,本次参加的学生有不少来自日本、德国和印度。学生们在活动中分享创意和知识,交流心得体会,也有不少学生尝试用汉语互相交流,介绍彼此灯笼上的文化元素,每一个学生都成了文化的传播者。马大孔院将继续组织此类活动,为学生们搭建相互沟通、相互学习的平台,增进不同国家人民之间的理解和友谊。[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”5217,5218,5219,5220,5221″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
